On Friday, 30 May, the audience gathered at the Ukmergė Culture Centre for the concert “Rhythm Symphony” of the International Festival “Percussion Ukmergė 2025” was transported to sunny lands for one evening.
The performers of the Corinthian Cultural Association “Efxinos Pontos”, who came from Greece, showed in their musical programme the living heritage of Greece – from traditional dances to instruments. After the Greeks, the fifteen-musician group Los Secretos de Pablo took to the stage with their musical programme Un mar de sueños (Sea of Dreams), a tumultuous and emotional musical voyage to the South American continent.
The audience and the performers were greeted by the patron of the International Festival “Percussion Ukmergė 2025”, the Mayor of Ukmergė District Municipality Darius Varnas.
The concert was attended by a large number of people, including the leaders of the Ukmergė District Municipality, foreigners from the municipality’s partner cities, guests of the city, and Ukmergė residents, who came to the Ukmergė City Festival to take part in the labyrinths of cheerful southern music.
The Percussion Music Festival has been organised by the Ukmergė Culture Centre for more than 10 years. The long-standing patron of the festival is the Baltic American Concord group of companies, and its sponsors are the Ukmergė District Municipality, the Egvila and Stansefabrikken companies, Gastro Pub “I will be here”, the Rockmergė Youth Music Club and Taujėnų Manor.
The project is funded by the Lithuanian Council for Culture, and the project partners are Jazz Academy and Improdimensija.
