Andrius Rekašius is a percussionist, master of the Norwegian Academy of Music, and artist of the Lithuanian National Symphony Orchestra.
He began playing percussion in 2000, when the Palanga Orchestra, which had just been revived after a 10-year hiatus, where he grew up as a musician. He has also participated in the Norwegian National Youth Orchestra (Ungdomssymfonikerne), the European Youth Brass Band (EYBB), the Animato Philharmonie orchestra, and many other projects. In 2009, he composed and performed A. Rekašius’ piece for percussion ensemble, Karų garsai (Sounds of War), for the Lithuanian Millennium Song Festival Vario audros (Copper Storm). In 2015, he was recognized as the best soloist at the 15th International Wind Orchestra Championship in Panevėžys.
During his musical career, Andrius has played in concert halls in Vienna, Berlin, Graz, Oslo, Prague, Bern, Birmingham, and elsewhere, as well as at the prestigious Oslo Gamle Logen (Oslo Old Lodge).
